Moin Valli, founder and managing director of Valli Opticians, was recognised in the Examiner YorkshireLive Business Awards for ‘Business Person of the Year 2021’.
Valli commented: ‘I am extremely proud to have been recognised in this way by local business leaders and humbled to have won the award. This award is as much for my wife Rachel as it is for me. I am lucky that we have very contrasting qualities, yet together we have always made a formidable team. As there are no nominations or shortlist for this particular category, it came as a shock on the night.’
Since opening the first clinic in 2005 with his wife Rachel, Moni has opened many branches across Yorkshire and the north-west. Expanding services to audiology, children’s myopia control and co-optic eye care for business.
In February, Valli opened University Valli Opticians in partnership with the University of Huddersfield. Enabling optometry students to gain ‘unparalleled experience in their clinical development’.
