My client is a chain of opticians, who have been established for 75 years with over 150 practices across the UK. They are constantly expanding through organic growth and acquisition, they are now recruiting for an experienced Optical Assistant to step up and take on a Management role.
Currently my client has a manager in place looking after 2 stores but is looking to find another so that each practice has a dedicated manager.
As an Optical Practice Manager you will spend your time on various aspects of the role such as leading a team, offering support and training where needed, managing the store on a daily basis, making sure optical and hearing bookings flow and being on the shopfloor.
Responsibilities of the Optical Practice Manager
You will work within a small but busy practice in an all around role.
You will be managing the team and be on hand to help your fellow colleagues. You will also be helping patients with all their eye and hearing care needs, including contact lenses, designer frames, NHS eye care and hearing health checks.
You will be dispensing spectacles and making sales as well as undertaking pre-screening, contact lens teaches and associated admin work.
Requirements for the Optical Practice Manager
You will need a minimum of 3 years experience as an Optical Assistant but ideally some level of experience as a team leader or higher, ideally some level of hearcare and it’s essential you can dispense spectacles to all levels.
Compensation for the Optical Practice Manager
On offer for the right person is a competitive salary of 18,000-22,000 as well as the opportunity to further your career for the right candidate into management. You will have 28 days holiday. You will work 9:00 – 5:00pm and NO Sunday’s.
