Job Title: Optical Practice Manager
Location: Nottingham
Working Hours: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm (Tuesday to Friday) and 9:00 am – 12:30 pm (Saturdays)
Salary: £27,000 – £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
– Must be a Qualified Dispensing Optician, registered with the General Optical Council
– Must have a minimum experience of 2-years working in an opticians
– Must be able to dispense to all levels
– Ideally have some experience within a supervisory or managerial role e.g. providing training, people management, performance monitoring, etc.
– You will be able to 5-days per week including Saturdays

Job Summary:
As the Optical Practice Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily management of the practice, ensuring excellent patient care, and driving the business forward. You will lead a team of optical assistants and optometrists, manage the practice’s financial performance, and maintain the highest standards of service.
Responsibilities of the Optical Practice Manager
– Oversee the daily operations of the optical practice, ensuring efficiency and high standards of customer care.
– Manage, train, and motivate the team, ensuring they deliver excellent service to patients.
– Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and managing inventory.
– Provide expert advice to patients on eyewear, lens choices, and eye care products.
– Ensure the practice meets sales targets and works within the budget, analysing financial reports and implementing strategies for growth.
– Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
– Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the practice and attract new customers.
– Resolve any patient concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
– Work closely with the optometrists to ensure seamless patient care and assist with clinical tasks as needed.
Requirements of the Optical Practice Manager
– To apply for this position, you will need to be a fully qualified Dispensing Optician who is registered with the GOC.
– Previous experience in optical practice management or a similar role is essential.
– You will be an outgoing and approachable person with excellent communication skills and the ability to think on your feet and solve problems and offer solutions for your customers.
– Strong leadership and people management skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
– Proven experience in achieving sales targets and managing budgets.
– Knowledge of optical products, lenses, and frames.
– Proficient in using optical practice management software and Microsoft Office.
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Compensation for the Optical Practice Manager
