Results of a six-year study found that Hoya’s MiyoSmart spectacle lens continued to slow down the progression of myopia in children aged 8 to 13.
The study also found that children who stopped wearing the lens showed no rebound effect when compared to the initial rate of progression, during their two-year randomised control trial or with the general population.
Global head of medical and scientific affairs at Hoya Vision Care, Natalia Vlasak, said: ‘This six-year follow-up clinical study on the MiyoSmart spectacle lens, the longest study conducted on a myopia management spectacle lens ever, shows the myopia control effects are sustainable over time which is very exciting news.’
