Optometrists and DO’s from Aston University’s school of optometry have prepared equipment that will furnish the eye health polyclinics at the Commonwealth Games (July 28th – August 8th).
The university have provided slit lamps, visual field screeners, ophthalmoscopes and tonomoters.
Athletes competing at the Commonwealth Games will be able to access emergency eye care, including dispensing of spectacles and contact lenses, as well as dry eye services.
Professor of optometry and physiological optics at Aston University, said: ‘It is an honour to support the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games through loaning our ophthalmic equipment, and I am proud of my colleagues who have volunteered to help run the clinics.
