Deafblind Awareness Week runs from 27th June – 3rd July, offering those within the optometry and audiology profession a chance to address any misconceptions surrounding the conditions they treat.
Deafblind UK is encouraging the public to get knowledgeable about deaf blindness, raising awareness of the different ways the condition can affect people.
A common misconception that the charity wants to debunk is that ‘deafblindness’ always means a complete loss of sight and hearing. The charity will be doing multiple things to push this message during the week, with help from those living with the condition.
